The activity of NRCRM aimed at:

• Development and participation in long-term measures to minimize the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster
• Improving the state system of medical assistance to affected people in Ukraine
• Determining the medical and radiobiological consequences of the Chornobyl disaster
• Studying of health of the affected population and developing strategies of its preservation in a remote post-accident period
• Dosimetry of external and internal exposure of affected by the Chornobyl accident. Radiological monitoring of radioactively contaminated zones, dosimetry certification of settlements of Ukraine
• Medical and biophysical works on the transformation of object “Shelter” SSE ChNPP into an environmentally safe system and decommissioning the Chernobyl nuclear power plant
• Participation in the formation of state policy on overcoming the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster
• International cooperation in overcoming the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster and other large-scale nuclear accidents
